Add at least 3 large cups of potting soil (enough to make a big ball that will sit on top of your cup)

Tie a knot in the hose as close to the soil as possible.

Place your hose in the top of the cup with the tail of the hose down in the cup like a wick.

Glue google eyes to your person’s face or draw on facial features with a permanent marker.

Put water down in the cup and keep it well watered.

Edible Play Dough

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup light corn syrup

1 ½ cup powdered sugar (up to 2 ¾ cups)

Mix all ingredients to get the right consistency for modeling. Let children create unique sculptures, and then allow them to eat their creations.

Gelatin Finger Paint

Any kind of flavored jello or gelatin

Enough boiling water to make it a goo consistency

Use your normal finger painting material or glossy paper.

Play Dough

3 cups plain flour

1 cup salt

½ to 1 cup of water

Food coloring or tempera paint

Mixing bowl

Mix flour and salt. Add food coloring to water. Add water, a little at a time, to the flour and salt. Stir together each time you add water. Stop adding water when the mixture will stay together without crumbling. If it is sticky you have added too much water and will have to add a little more flour and salt. Store in a zipper style bag in the refrigerator.

Snow Paint

Food coloring

Water

Place water and food coloring in empty spray bottle. Let children spray the snow!

Bread Dough Art

4 cups flour

1 cup salt

1 ½ cup water

Mix salt in warm water. Partially dissolve then add flour. Mix with a spoon until sticky. Form into ball with hands. Knead for at least 5 minutes. Dough should be smooth prior to use. Roll out and use cookie cutters to make ornaments. Bake at 250 degrees on a cookie sheet until objects are firm and dry. To preserve and decorate, they can be painted or varnished.
