Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree preferred

- Strong organizational skills

- Knowledge of school district organization desirable

- Successful experience working with business, community and public agencies desirable

- Knowledge of volunteer management techniques

- Knowledge of public relations, fund raising, and grant writing

- Presentation skills including oral presentations, written documents, PowerPoint

- Experience in communications and/or related fields

- Experience with a 501 C3 organization, school foundations preferred

Primary Purpose:

Assist in the planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive internal and external development program that will complement and provide financial assistance to the Northwest ISD Education Foundation to benefit the Northwest Independent School District. This employee will provide support; assist with creating enthusiasm for a synergistic relationship between the Foundation and/or Partnership Program and the District. Serve as public relations and goodwill ambassador for the District and the department in all interactions with employees, parents, and the community.

Specific Duties:

1. Develop community relationships, plan marketing programs and events to cultivate, motivate, and solicit individual, foundation, and corporate donors.

2. Raise public awareness of the Foundation.

3. Coordinate and write grant and endowment requests for funds from the corporate and private sector.

4. Coordinate the Staff Appeal by setting up campus/department coordinators, producing materials and working with the NEF Board to create the annual fund raising program.

5. Work with the NEF Scholarship Committee in the coordination of the annual scholarship program, including scholarship payments and communications with the universities and colleges.

6. Assist the Executive Director with developing and managing the Foundation’s process for receiving, reviewing, and awarding innovative teaching grants to the Northwest Independent School District.

7. Collaborate with Executive Director and Superintendent/Board of Trustees. Likewise develops strong relationship with school principals, administrators, directors, etc.

8. Assist the Executive Director for daily operation of the NEF mission and objectives.

9. Sets and measures goals regularly with the assistance of the Executive Director and the NEF Board.

10. Maintain donor relations files and records.

11. Maintain files and records of Foundation that includes current records of Foundation business, such as copies of invoices, etc., approved by the Executive Director for payment, applications, endowments, approved grants, scholarships, etc.

12. Prepare Foundation agenda for Board of Directors’ meetings and distribute to directors.

13. Serve as recording secretary for Foundation Board meetings and type and distribute minutes of each meeting.

14. Maintain and update mailing list and direct mail database.

15. Prepare grant, scholarship letters and checks for recipients.

16. Maintain grant and scholarship files.

17. Record and maintain the financial records to Foundation to ensure that the Foundation’s financial records are in compliance and prepare monthly financial reports for the NEF Directors’ meeting.

18. Answer incoming calls and take accurate messages.

19. Work as a positive member of the office staff.

20. Prepare PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, charts, etc., as needed for presentations

And/or support materials.

21. Perform all other specified duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties: Assist with Foundation volunteers

Equipment Used: Personal computer, printer, copier, and fax machine.

Working Conditions: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district and statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
