Junior Checklist

Fall (September, October, November)

ð Attend Junior Conferencing with Mrs. Pleshek—it’s to discuss junior year information---very positive---very important!!

ð Attend presentations by colleges, techs and military reps to explore post-secondary options. Announcements will be made when they are visiting. Students MUST sign up outside of the guidance office to attend meetings.

ð Register to take ACT/SAT. Test dates and registration deadlines can be found on Mrs. Pleshek’s office door. Juniors are recommended to take in Feb. or April; so that you still have June for a re-take if needed. You can register online at www.actstudent.org.

ð Attend Wisconsin Education Fair. All juniors are encouraged to attend—BHS will take them during the school day—generally end of Sept. or early October.

ð If you signed up for the PSAT in spring of sophomore year; testing will be October of junior year.

Winter (December, January, February)

ð Continue to attend college, tech and military presentations.

ð Register for ACT/SAT—

ð PSAT test scores distributed (Dec. or Jan.)

ð Make sure you are set for graduation---credits, required courses—stay of track!

ð ASVAB and ACT prep are offered in January and February. Also, you may sign up to take the Accuplacer with Mrs. Weier. ASVAB is needed if considering military, it’s also a very good tool if undecided about what you would like to do after high school.

ð Success Day is a great opportunity to explore careers, and interests. This is the year to start narrowing these things down.

Spring (March, April, May)

ð Narrow down college choices

ð Make an effort to visit colleges, techs you are interested in applying to.

ð Check to make sure credits are in order.

ð April and June are last chance for ACT before senior year!
