Mark Zahra (photo), 29 years of age, currently occupies the position as stable rider for the Melbourne stable of Darley Australia’s retained trainer Peter Snowden. Included in his 700 winners have been 5 at Group 1 level, the most recent being aboard ALBERT THE FAT in the 2011 Emirates Stakes. Other wins at the highest level also include ESKIMO QUEEN in the 2009 Coolmore Classic, ROCKDALE in the 2009 T.J.Smith Stakes and ABOVE DECK in the 2006 Doomben Cup. His initial Group 1 victory was recorded on MAYO’S MUSIC in the 2004 Raffles Cup at Kranji Racecourse, Singapore. Jockey Zahra also has 6 Group 2 wins and 16 Group 3 victories to his credit.

Jockey Zahra also has previously been licensed in Hong Kong as a Club Jockey during the closing months of the 2003/2004 racing season. He has advised that his minimum riding weight is 119 lbs allowing him to accept race riding engagements at 117 lbs with the allowable overweight.
