Team Summary

The regional Partnership and Sales Team is responsible for identifying, securing and developing strategic partnerships. These partnerships will drive a regional marketing strategy that delivers mass supporter recruitment across the Marie Curie fundraising product portfolio. As well as delivering mass recruitment numbers, they also seek a range of other innovative partnership opportunities and adoptions that will deliver additional income to the charity. These could include nominated charity status for local corporate companies, sporting events, memberships & associations and special high value events.

Once secured, the team will manage and steward those relationships ensuring that agreed objectives are met for both the partners and the charity.

Job Summary

Working with the Senior Partnership and Sales Manager, create and deliver a sales and marketing strategy for your area that will drive the recruitment of supporters and increase income across the Marie Curie portfolio of fundraising products. This includes the charity’s flagship activities – The Great Daffodil Appeal, Walk Ten and Blooming Great Tea Party.

Establish a network within your region across media, business, event organisers and other relevant organisations that will drive support for Marie Curie by reaching mass audiences.

Identify, negotiate and establish viable relationships with third party event organisers, corporate organisations and secure adoptions to ensure the charity increases participation in its core products and maximises their fundraising potential.

Duties and responsibilities

1.  Develop, plan and deliver an area marketing strategy that drives mass sales and has clear reference to key Marie Curie products and activity throughout the year.

2.  Agree key target numbers of new participants with your Senior Partnerships and Sales Manager and ensure activity is in place to achieve these across all relevant fundraising products. Work with Community Teams to ensure that local promotional plans are integrated with the wider plan.

3.  Sell in partnership opportunities (written applications and formal presentations) to senior level individuals in targeted companies and organisations. Negotiate and close partnership deals ensuring commercial terms are maximised and leverage best value for Marie Curie

4.  Develop leads and build up industry networks and contacts across the Region

5.  Actively research and secure strategic promotional or commercial partnerships that support sales & marketing and mass recruitment for the product portfolio at a regional level

6.  Develop and secure regional corporate fundraising partnerships which may include some or all of the following elements

§  Volunteering

7.  Actively research and identify other regional adoption opportunities and develop relationships with these providers

§  Third party events (e.g. runs and triathlons)

§  Annual special events

§  Mayoral adoptions

8.  Account Manage key partnership relationships to ensure delivery of both Marie Curie and partner organisation goals.

9.  Identify potential opportunities for national corporate relationships and report these to the Head of Corporate Development. Support existing national corporate development activities which may include a regional focus.

4. Experience / Leading or playing a major part in negotiating & closing business to business partnership deals
Track record of sales and business development achievements
Development and delivery of consumer focused, integrated marketing campaigns from concept to post campaign analysis.
Ability to organise effective schedules, co-ordinating multiple external and internal resources
Team working – within own team and across an organisation. Collaboration across teams to use multi-disciplinary talents to best effect
Co-ordinating multiple projects and delivering to deadlines / Creating, managing and monitoring budgets
Experience of CRMs and other commercial relationships
Experience of working at a strategic level within an organisation

Salary Range £28,986 to £32,206 per annum

Annual Leave Entitlement 25 days per year, plus bank holidays
