2. JOB SUMMARY

Working with the Head of Communications the post holder will develop and deliver Maggie’s digital content strategy, playing a key role in the delivery of a new website that will support the organisations communications goals; producing web pages, email campaigns, blogs, products and digital marketing assets.

Alongside our Digital Manager, you will provide a hub of digital expertise for the organisation at an important time of growth and significant investment in our digital capabilities to deliver cancer support, fundraising campaigns and increase awareness of Maggie’s. You will support with the technical requirements for all digital platforms.

As a specialist in digital content and with excellent editorial skills you will work with internal stakeholders including PR, Publications and other teams to develop appropriate and engaging content for all Maggie’s digital channels, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of content.

You will create world-class customer experiences across digital platforms and champion them internally as well as undertake analytics across the platforms and channels to improve Maggie’s campaign effectiveness, conversion metrics and overall experience for users.

4. KEY RESULT AREAS

KRA 1. Primary job requirements:

1)  Manage the development and delivery of Maggie's digital content strategy, working alongside Digital Manager to deliver our overarching digital strategy.

2)  Support with the build, testing and review of a new website for Maggie’s and implement ongoing development to optimise digital content

3)  Deliver content for all Maggie’s digital channels, including website and organisational e-communications, ensuring all content is on brand and follows Maggie’s tone of voice guidance.

4)  Develop and manage a content schedule and workflow process, liaising with internal stakeholders including Publications, PR and Heads of Centre teams to source content and ensure website is up-to-date, accurate and engaging.

5)  Work with Maggie’s Online Centre Head to plan and deliver improved frameworks and content to deliver our cancer support online.

6)  Work with Publications Manager to develop an integrated approach to ensure all offline editorial is developed to be consumed digitally.

7)  Support with pipeline of content to PR for all social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to meet agreed KPI’s and objectives.

8)  Work with Brand Marketing Manager to ensure digital elements of marketing and fundraising campaigns are produced and supported to a high standard.

9)  Responsible for facilitating and enabling Centre and Fundraising staff to become active participants in and advocates of digital, owning areas of content, including emails, news stories and blog publishing.

10) Create appropriate processes, training and support materials to enable best practice for online content development across the organisation.

11) Support with technical and reporting requirements across all digital platforms.

KRA 2. Finance, Administration and Policy and Programme Development:

12) Ensure the preparation and timely submission of reports against objectives, budgets and targets.

13) Delegated responsibility for digital projects budget, and for ensuring that projects are delivered on time and to budget.

KRA 3. Human Resources:

15) Responsible for evaluating and responding to organisational digital requirements

16) Keep up to date with current digital trends, technologies and platforms and recommend improvements to current ways of working.

17) Support with reporting across all areas of digital activity: including websites, email activity, display advertising, PPC, google adwords and emerging mobile channels.

18) Work with teams to allow them to be self sufficient in accessing and understanding metrics available

KRA 5. Information Technology

Training and qualifications / Educated to degree level or equivalent / Post graduate study relevant to the post
Evidence of relevant ongoing professional training and development / CV and certificate
Experience / 3 years previous experience in a digital role managing and producing online content, digital communications and marketing plans
Experience of copy-writing, proofing and editing experience
Experience of producing digital communication and marketing channel content, preferably in a large organisation with geographically disperse staff and supporter base
Experience of managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
Experience of multi-tasking and work prioritisation
Experience in managing complex online content schedules and email management / Knowledge of or experience in working within the charity or not-for-profit sector
Web analytics and using web tracking tools such as google analytics etc.
Implementing content management systems, including word press
Experience of developing in CSS/HTML/Flash / CV, interview, interview tests, references
Knowledge and Skills / Excellent writing and proofing skills

An understanding of web technologies in particular email distribution systems, content management systems, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), social media and display advertising
