Job Title: ClubGolf Regional Manager (Argyll & Dunbartonshire)
DIRECT REPORTS TO: CLUBGOLF MANAGER
EMPLOYED BY: CLUBGOLF SCOTLAND LIMITED
FIXED TERM TO 31 DECEMBER 2015
Main Purpose of Job
·  To contribute to the overall delivery of the ClubGolf Strategy and to the achievement of the ClubGolf targets contained in the strategy.
·  To lead the delivery of the ClubGolf National Strategy within a designated area of Scotland incorporating the local authority areas of Argyll & Bute, East Dunbartonshire, West Dunbartonshire.
·  To develop, manage, maintain and deliver an overall plan for the designated area including strategies covering each local authority area.
·  Within the parameters of this delivery plan, to work with golf clubs and golf facilities to ensure their sign up to ClubGolf and ongoing development with a focus on coach education, volunteer development, facility management and child and adult protection issues, enlisting the support of other staff within the ClubGolf project where necessary.
·  To work with all local authorities in the designated area to develop, manage, maintain and deliver implementation plans for ClubGolf’s introductory programme in primary schools with a view to delivering in all schools in the designated area in line with the ClubGolf Strategy. Further, to manage the input of any staff within the local authority who are working on aspects of the ClubGolf project.
·  To work as part of a team with other ClubGolf Regional Managers and input to the development of the ClubGolf programme nationally through examples of best practice and shared resources.
·  To work closely with staff in partner and stakeholder organisations to ensure coach education, marketing, branding, facility development, public relations, child and adult protection, monitoring, reporting, local administration, and presence at events are planned well in advance and in accordance with the ClubGolf operating system on both an annual and ongoing basis.
·  To work to a programme agreed annually and reviewed regularly with the ClubGolf Manager which delivers directly against the ClubGolf Strategy.
·  To maintain records of all activities in the designated area and to monitor results against targets.
·  To promote the work of the key partners and its brand name “ClubGolf”.
Position in Organisation
The post holder will be an employee of ClubGolf Scotland Limited and report to the ClubGolf Manager.
The ClubGolf Manager will lead the performance management process.
The post holder will work closely with all staff involved with ClubGolf, providing advice and expertise on ClubGolf developments in the designated area.
The post holder will be the lead contact for all ClubGolf matters in the designated area and will work directly with partners including local authorities and golf clubs.
The post holder will have an overview of all work being conducted in the designated area under “One Plan for Golf” including school, club, performance and coaching developments.
Scope of Job
·  Management: The post holder will be responsible for managing the input to delivery of the ClubGolf Strategy of any local golf development officers in the designated area, or of any sports development officers with a remit for golf.
·  ClubGolf Strategy: The post holder will have responsibility for managing the implementation of the ClubGolf strategy in the designated area, and for working with local partners to achieve the ClubGolf targets within the area.
·  Partnerships: The post holder will be responsible for working with local authorities, golf clubs and golf facilities within the designated area, and other partner agencies involved in the delivery of ClubGolf, and will also have a degree of responsibility to represent the wider aims of ClubGolf partners to individuals and agencies within the area.
·  Projects: The post holder will input to specific ClubGolf projects designed to deliver aspects of the overall ClubGolf Strategy in agreement with the ClubGolf Manager. The post holder may also be given project management or lead responsibility for specific work items. This may include planning for identified events and representing ClubGolf at such events.
Dimensions and Limits of Authority
The post holder will have authority for implementation of the ClubGolf Strategy within the designated area under the direction of the ClubGolf Manager, and as approved by the ClubGolf Board.
The post holder will have authority for decision making (answering to the ClubGolf Manager) on any aspect of strategy delivery within the designated area, and within the parameters of the ClubGolf Strategy.
Qualifications
The post holder is required to hold a degree level qualification or equivalent in a sports related discipline. This can be waived in exceptional circumstances.
The post holder must have a full current driving licence.
Experience
·  A minimum of three years experience of working in a sports development environment is required except in exceptional circumstances
·  Knowledge of sports development and Scottish golf are essential
·  Some experience of working with national governing bodies and local authorities
·  Ability to use a computer for email, word processing, spreadsheets and other office functions.
·  Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential.
·  Demonstrable track record in delivering results against targets within tight timescales.

·  To work with all local authorities in the designated area to develop implementation plans for ClubGolf’s introductory programme in primary schools with a view to delivering in all schools in the designated area in a timescale in line with the overall clubgolf strategy.
·  To work co-operatively with other Regional Managers, including regular team meetings and input to the development of the ClubGolf programme nationally, utilising best practice and shared resources.
·  To work closely with all ClubGolf staff to ensure coach education, marketing, branding, facility development and public relations are planned well in advance and in accordance with the ClubGolf operating system on an annual basis.
·  Admin and other support functions.
