B.C. Issue: LOGGING vs. FOREST

Kalesnikoff Lumber Co. would like to harvest an area of old-growth forest near the small town of Gray Creek, British Columbia. Gray Creek, located near Kootenay Lake, has a population of approximately 125 people and, economically, is struggling to stay afloat. Here is what different groups are saying about the proposal:

Because of these conflicting viewpoints, the Government of British Columbia has organized a meeting between Kaelsnikoff Lumber Co., the B.C. Forest Association, and the residents of Gray Creek to come to a consensus on the proposal.
