Investment Banking Fall Internship

Description:

• Work closely with analysts and associates to evaluate potential mergers and acquisitions and assess strategic and capital alternatives

• Contribute to industry‐focused database activities and market research

• Actively work on a number of live projects at one time and assist with new business development

• Perform valuation analyses using techniques including precedent transaction analysis, take over premium analysis, comparable company analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis

• Draft client and investor presentations

Minimum Requirements:

• Sophomore or Junior with an outstanding academic track record and a strong interest in the financial markets

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills and a comfort working with financial data

• Solid writing and general communication skills, as well as attention to detail

• Team player who works well within a collaborative environment but shows independence and resourcefulness in executing tasks

• Intellectual curiosity is a must

• Must exhibit professionalism and maturity in dealing with partners, associates, and other members of the firm

• Must have reliable transportation

Community Relations/Marketing/Merchandise Intern

The focus of this internship will be to provide an intern with an opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of the Checkers’ community outreach. One of the primary responsibilities of this internship will be to help coordinate appearances for Chubby, the Checkers’ mascot. Appearances will include, but are not limited to: school appearances, hospital visits, senior citizen facility visits, special civic and community events, sponsor-related events and Checkers special events. This intern will also work with local charitable organizations and schools to plan, organize and host group outings at Checkers home games. Responsibilities also include helping with the merchandising and website maintenance. In addition, interns will help plan and execute the season long merchandise strategy for the season.

Group Sales Game Day Interns (2 positions)

The focus of this internship will be to allow the students to gain experience in game day operations of our group sales staff. The interns must be available to work every Friday, Saturday and Sunday game as well as be able to talk to our fans and provide outstanding customer service. Responsibilities on game day will include but are not limited to: strategically placing all group sales materials and collateral, meeting participants for in game promotions, gathering group data, assisting with birthday parties and ensuring participants make it to their fan experiences in a timely manner.

Group Sales Office and Game Day Intern (1 position)

The focus of this internship will be to provide the intern with an understanding of how the group sales’ department works on a daily basis, leading up to, and on weekend game days. This internship will require in-office time from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday-Friday. The intern will also be required to work all weekend games (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays). The intern will need to be comfortable talking to our fans and providing excellent customer service as well as be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The primary responsibilities of this internship include but are not limited to: researching and compiling data for various sales reports, creating fliers for schools and other organizations, ordering copies when needed, delivering tickets and order forms to customers when needed, assisting in prospecting and compiling call lists as well as confirming birthday parties and assisting with our Kids Club.

Internship I-Book-Keeper

We are seeking a graduate student accounting major who has facility with Quickbooks Nonprofit version or who has experience with accounting software and is willing to learn QB. The intern will be responsible for 6-10 entries each month, thank you notes, quarterly pledge reminders, and general book-keeping tasks including generating reports as needed. The intern will be asked to devise a learning contract to ensure that his/her personal learning objectives are met for the placement. Hours: Approximately 5-10 hrs. per month with opportunities to increase for those interested in more hours. This position reports to the CEO.

Internship II-Mentoring Program Intern

This position is ideal for a criminal justice undergraduate or graduate student who is interested in learning the inner workings of a nonprofit that serves formerly incarcerated persons who are reintegrating in the community. Specific duties include job development, scheduling, community outreach, meeting planning, and data management. The intern will be asked to devise a learning contract to ensure that his/her personal learning objectives are met for the placement. Hours: Approximately 5hr minimum per week.
