Department Overview

PG&E’s Gas Operations organization is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.

Position Summary

This position is part of PG&E's Summer Intern Program and will be placed in the Gas Operations organization. Location to be determined within our service territory.

Engineering Interns will have the opportunity to participate in the Summer Intern Program designed to help students gain valuable knowledge and experience in PG&E’s Gas Operations. Each Engineering Intern will be placed in a specific department within Gas Operations, and will be expected to contribute as a valuable team member.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earning a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering field (students MUST be continuing education towards degree during and/or after internship)

• Must have a valid driver’s license or obtain one at least 30 days prior to start date.

Desired:

• EIT or FE certification

• 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA

• Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation

• Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written

• Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
