Assignment and Tasks

You will be using the following online program http://www.wordle.net/

By clicking on Open in Window when you have completed your assigned Wordle documents, you may hold down the SHIFT and the PRINT SCREEN keys to copy your screen to the clipboard. You can then hold down the CTRL + V keys to paste this image into your Word or PowerPoint document. You will need to use the crop and resizing tools to clean up the edges and the unwanted space around your images.

Assignment Steps:

1. You will need to load your electronic text copy in PDF format from Class Documents in order to complete this assignment. Keep the text open in a separate window. Using the electronic text will make it easier to search for and then copy/paste the text into Wordle and into your presentation. This skill/technique will be demonstrated in class. After this demo, a video screencast of this technique will be loaded on the class wiki.
2. You will be creating a Wordle for at least:
a. Two Literary Devices
b. One example of narration describing the setting or nature
c. One example of dialogue (with only school appropriate Steinbeck language)
d. Three characters using narrative description
e. One description of an animal
f. Using the theme of "loneliness" or "friendship" as developed in Of Mice and Men design a Wordle with synonyms (at least THREE) and phrases (at least TWO) from the text.

You will need to show the original text (as seen in the wiki samples) and reflect on your choices of text, the Wordle color, font, layout, etc. you chose to showcase your perceptions of the text.
