Dear Faculty, Staff and Community Members
The Illini West FFA will be ordering chicks, Goslings, Ducklings, and turkeys, for delivery to the school the last week in March. We are doing this for educational purposes and the chicks will be housed in the Ag department for the first 10-14 days prior to them leaving, so that we may study growth and development, nutrition, basic animal care, and animal anatomy and physiology. We will also be doing debeaking, immunizations, and pinioning (clipping wings) to any birds that are requested to be done. We already have quite a few students in the Ag program that are ordering chicks and are offering to order chicks for any faculty and staff that would like some. The hatchery that we will be using is Welp hatchery (same one used by Farm and Home and Farm King) the price that is in the catalog is the same price we will be charging and it is a great deal because we will start the chicks for you and they will be slightly feather by the time that you get them. If you would like to do this please e-mail me or catch me in the hallway. Welps has a website but I also have a couple of catalogs. Don’t worry about the minimum order you may order what ever you want in terms of numbers as we will meet the minimum order number easily.
Thanks Sam DeCounter
ATTENTION STUDENTS & FACULTY
Water has been shut off to the East Trailers. We are aware of the situation and are working to rectify as soon as possible. The problem appears to be a broken sewer pipe. Once this has been confirmed the situation will be remedied quickly.
