To be eligible for an award under the Investing in Innovation Fund, eligible applicants must meet all the requirements listed below. To ensure the fulfillment of all these requirements, eligible applicants must complete the form below. Checklist for Partnership Applicants*
*A partnership applicant is an applicant that is a partnership between a nonprofit organization and (1) one or more LEAs or (2) a consortium of schools.
The nonprofit organization in the partnership must meet the definition of “nonprofit organization” used in this program--i.e., the organization is an entity that meets the definition of “nonprofit” under 34 CFR 77.1(c), or an institution of higher education as defined by section 101(a) of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended.

(pg.) _____ / (1) The nonprofit organization has a record of significantly improving student achievement, attainment, or retention through the assistance it has provided to an LEA or schools.
Note that a nonprofit organization that does not have a record of improving student achievement may not be the lead applicant or receive a subgrant in a partnership application. An applicant must provide, in its application, sufficient supporting data or other information to allow the Department to determine whether the nonprofit organization(s) in the partnership meet this eligibility requirements. If the Department determines that an applicant has provided insufficient information in its application, the applicant will not have an opportunity to provide additional information.

(pg.) _____ / 2) The eligible applicant has demonstrated that the private sector will provide matching funds, or in-kind donations, in order to help bring results to scale. (Evidence of the match will not need to be provided until after the peer review process is completed).
