Keep in Touch
I like to talk to friends every day.
But what happens if they have
to go away?
Keep in touch; it’s not so hard
With a letter or postcard,
When I can’t just cross
the road so we can play.
I will write to my good
friends because I know.
They will be my friends
no matter where they go.
Anytime I get the notion,
I e-mail across the ocean,
So our friendships never end;
they grow and grow.

Inventors Succeed
Inventors seek answers.
They have a big chore.
They make lots of new things
No one’s dreamed of before.
Inventors work hard on
Each day of the week
To make new gadgets or
New toys that go squeak.
Inventors keep working
Until they succeed.
Inventors are happy
To make things we need.

Mistake in the Lake
Grandpa hopped into the rowboat.
He called, “Let’s go for a ride.”
We were wishing to go fishing,
So we hurried right outside.
Grandma quickly packed a lunchbox
As we planned what we would take.
We grabbed sunscreen
and started rowing
Halfway out into the lake.
When we got out to the middle,
Someone said, “Where is the bait?”
Then we knew what we’d forgotten.
Those big fish would have to wait.

So Much Pie!
My, oh my!
So much pie!
Stacked up high.
That’s no lie.
Can you find a child who
will help us share?
We’d love to deliver them anywhere.
Is pie on your mind? We don’t care,
‘Cause we love pie!

The Latest Ideas
The latest ideas keep coming.
There’s always a new thing to find.
The hottest new fad might be hiding
In the busiest part of your mind.
Make an old thing
Bigger or finer and prettier too.
Or use your head to
Think of a thing that is new.
