This is not a business venture it's something my husband and I have done for the past 5 years for fun and we enjoy meeting all walks of life.
Most houses will charge a fee of $150AU per week for accommodation, utilities and that covers everything so there are not extra costs and we encourage them to get a calling card that they can use on a home phone to call the USA. (That price includes breakfast and dinner 7 nights but lunch is a little harder so they need to fend for themselves.) Transport can be arranged according to where the internship is but it's usually not a problem as everything is within 15 minutes of the homes.
