2. Essay
· Write a 5 paragraph essay pretending you are an astronomer of the future. You should describe your experiences and make sure to meet the following criteria:
i. Introduction – Describe yourself, compare your technology to the tools of the 2000’s
ii. Body #1 – Describe your plans to travel to different stars (classification of different stars)
iii. Body #2 – Describe what you see in the lives of the different stars you visit
iv. Body #3 – Describe the different types of galaxies you see
v. Conclusion – Speculate on how the universe formed, compare your theory to the big bang.
· Make sure to include a bibliography for your essay in you use any sources other than your book.
3. Models
· For this assessment, you will have to create 5 models, each worth 10 points. They will be graded on accuracy of representation and quality of construction.
· The five models must be labeled well and explain each of the five following topics:
· Tools of Modern Astronomy
· Classification/Types of Stars
· Star’s Life
· Types of Galaxies
· Big Bang
