How to Run a Great Capernaum Club Seminar – Games and Mixers
Games/Mixers That You Could Play At Club:
- Relay race with ball in between your legs
o Place foam ball in between your knees and you have to wobble all the way down to the other side of the room and back. First team to finish wins.
- Frozen t-shirt
o Teams have to undue a frozen t-shirt and someone has to put it on.
- Limbo
- Musical chairs
- Pie Roulette
o Kids pass a pie down the line. When the music stops they can either choose to pie themselves, or pie their buddy.
- Peel the onion
o Guys get together in the middle and girls try to rip them apart.
- Human bowling
o Put kids on a skateboard with a helmet. Have paper towel rolls at the other side of the room. Have leaders or buddies push and guide the kid down the “alley” into all the pins.
- Rock, Paper, Scissors ameba style
o If you lose, you join onto the back of the person who beat you…2 trains at the end.
- Telephone
o Get in a single file line. Pass a phrase down the line by whispering without messing it up.
- Karaoke
- Charades
o Split group up into teams or could do this as a big group. Have people act out what is on the card and team guesses. First team to finish all of them wins. Also really good to have adults, leaders, or buddies act out and all the kids guess.
- Indoor scavenger hunt
o Split group up into 2 groups. Call out random objects that someone in the group may have with them. First team to bring them to the front wins that round.
§ Examples: 2 shoe laces, Belt, 5 watches, 1 pen, etc
- Pictionary
o Self explanatory…works best when leaders draw things on white board, but it’s pretty fun when our friends get a chance to draw as well.
- Chariot Race
o Use 2 bed sheets. Put 1 or 2 Capernaum kids sitting down on the bed sheet. Buddies and leaders pull the sheet around a course and room. Switch who is in the sheet every time. Works best with a slick floor
- Mummy Wrap
o Wrap a kid or leader in toilet paper. Judge who is the best mummy.
- Balloon Stomp
o Blow up balloons and tie a string to the end. Tie one balloon around each person’s ankle. The object is to stomp and pop other people’s balloons without getting yours popped. Once yours pops, you are out.
- Q-tip war
o Get a bunch of Q-tips. Split the room in 2. Give each person a straw and a few Q-tips. When the music plays, you blow the Q-tips across the room and try to get as many on the other side.
- Shoe Pandemonium
o Put everyone’s shoes in the middle of the room and mix them up. All at once, you have to go and find your 2 shoes and put them on as fast as you possibly can.
- Over-Under Relay
o Pass a ball over and under down a line.
- Marshmallow Fight
o 2 groups…try to get as many marshmellows on the other side.
- Fruit or Marshmallow Sculpture
o Get into a few groups. Give each group a bag of marshmellows and some toothpicks. Try to make the tallest sculpture in 5 minutes.
- Hula hoop pass
o The entire group holds hands…Pass a hula hoop down the line without breaking hands.
- Clothes Relay
o Have some baggy clothes, a hat, and some other crazy stuff. Kids have to put on all the clothes, run down tag someone, and then come back and take off the clothes so the next person can go.
- Cookie Stack on Forehead
o See how many oreos you can stack on your forehead in 1 minute. Call 4-5 kids up front for this.
- Spamanimals
o Create a sculpture or animal out of a thing of spam. Make sure you have a sink to wash hands after this.
- Shaving Cream and Cheese Ball Throw
o Leaders put shaving cream all over their face. Kids take cheese balls and try to throw as many cheese balls on the leaders face as they can.
- Musical Food
o Have a bag with mystery food inside. Pass the bag around in a circle. When the music stops, the person with the bag has to pull something out of the bag and eat it.
- Arm wrestling
o Pretty fun…get everyone into this. Chant people’s names and go crazy for the kids. They love this.
- Sleeping bag wrestling
o Have kids kneel down and put sleeping bags over their heads. When the leaders say go, they have to “wrestle” the person to the ground while the sleeping bag is over their head. Try to do this with mats around or pillows.
- Kickball
o Fun game to play as a group.
