How to make the graph for the Solar Cooker Lab
1. Open Microsoft Excel
2. In cell A1 (the first cell) type “Time (minutes)”
3. In cell B1 type “Manila”
4. In cell C1 type “Foil”
5. In cell D1 type “Construction paper”
6. Enter in your data using ONLY NUMBERS
- Put in “1” instead of “1 minute”
- Put in “25” instead of “25oC”
7. When your data has been entered, select all of your data with your mouse. Don’t select any additional blank cells.
8. Press the chart wizard button. It is in the toolbar, a little to the left of the middle, and it looks like a tiny bar graph. It looks like this:
9. Select the type of graph. The graph that we are making should be an XY (scatter) plot.
10. Click next twice
11. Enter the title for you graph, and label the axes (X is time, Y is temperature)
12. Click finish.
13. Now, you can copy and paste your graph into your lab report!
