This means you have messages that you can accept or archive. You typically should accept all emails. If you notice that there are emails on topics and events that have passed we suggest accepting them anyone as you can repurpose these emails for other campaigns in the future.

o  To accept a package click on the title of the package. The package should then expand to give you the option of accepting or archiving. Press ‘accept’. The package should then disappear from your screen.

o  After accepting the package you will see a box populate at the top of the page. It will give you the option to edit the form or make it active. Click ‘Make Active’ to finish accepting the package. This does not mean that the form will automatically show up on your website. It simply means it is ready to be used.

5.  Once you have accepted this sign-up form package the form can be accessed from the ‘Quick Links’ section of your home page. To get to back to the home page click the icon. Under the ‘Quick Links’ menu and next to ‘sign-up forms’ click ‘manage’. You should find your Volunteer Sign-Up Form on this page.

HOW TO EDIT THE SIGN-UP FORM

1.  Click‘Your Website’on the top navigation menu of your BSD Branch.

2.  Under Pages & Forms, clickSign-up.

3.  Find the Global Volunteer Form sign-up form, either by sorting and browsing or by searching.

4.  Click the correspondingbutton to edit the form.

When you click the icon the ‘Step 1 of 2: Edit Basic Information forGlobal Chapter Volunteer Form’ screen should show up. You should not edit the ‘Form Name’, ‘Public Title’, ‘Form Slug’, ‘Page Wrapper’, ‘HTML - Above Form’ or ‘HTML - Below Form’ found on this screen. The ‘Thank you option’ drop down menu should also stay as the default ‘Display thank you message’ option.

5.  You should edit the ‘HTML - Thank You Page’ text. This text will show once volunteers complete the application. In the box we recommend copying and pasting the highlighted HTML text below. The text gives volunteers more information about expectations of volunteers and next steps. It also provides volunteers with virtual engagement options they can partake while they await for a call or email from your Chapter.

<span style="font-size: 12px;">Dear Prospective Volunteer,</span</p>

<p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with GLSEN. We want to make it as easy as possible to become involved in ensuring that schools are safe and affirming for all students regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.<br />

<br />

GLSEN Chapters are volunteer-led groups of people committed to making a difference in communities across the United States. Recognizing the importance of the safe school movement, our board members devote time to carrying out local programs that impacts school climate and promote respectful learning in K-12 classrooms.<br />

<br />

We apply the same principle of respect to the volunteers who devote time to bring GLSEN&#39;s programs and visions to their communities. To ensure every member of our community has a great experience we expect volunteers to follow these important guidelines.<br />

<br />

What we value and expect from volunteers: </span</p>

<p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"<strong>Respect</strong>: At the heart of GLSEN&rsquo;s mission is the creation of healthy, safe, and positive environments and relationships. GLSEN believes in respecting the dignity of every person and is committed to conducting its operations in safe, non-discriminatory, and positive environments.<br />

<br />

<strong>Diversity</strong>: GLSEN values the experience and knowledge that diverse and engaged members of our community bring to our work, and recognizes the necessity of maintaining a network of volunteers that is reflective of and accountable to the communities that we serve &mdash; including people of diverse sexual orientations, transgender and gender non-conforming people, people of color, women, intersex people and people of diverse abilities, national origins, ages, socioeconomic backgrounds and spiritual experiences.<br />

<br />

<strong>Teamwork</strong>: GLSEN expects the highest standard of personal conduct from its volunteers. Volunteers will act in an ethical, honest, collegial, and professional manner towards one another, and will observe national policies and bylaws.<br />

<br />

<strong>Transparency</strong>: GLSEN volunteers can expect to receive an orientation which includes general information about GLSEN and its history as well as context about national goals and priorities and how volunteer opportunities support and align with our programs.<br />

<br />

<strong>Feedback</strong>: GLSEN strives to improve the experience of volunteers and the way we carry out our work on the local level, to that end we are open to hearing suggestions on ways to simplify systems and to share best practices.<br />

<br />

<strong>Creativity</strong>: GLSEN creates opportunities for volunteers to be creative in the way they help to carry out our mission but reserves the right to refine these ideas to align with national priorities and chapter interests and time constraints.<br />

<br />

Thank you once again for your interest in getting involved with GLSEN. A Chapter board member will reach out to you in the next few weeks to discuss next steps in becoming an official volunteer. While you wait, please consider becoming involved in the following virtual ways:</span</p>

LINK SIGN-UP FORM TO A CONTENT ROTATOR ITEM OR ARTICLE ON YOUR WEBSITE

Sign-up forms can be linked to your Chapter website’s content rotators and have been pre-designed to have the same feel and brand consistency as the website.

1.  To link a sign-up form to a Content Rotator on your Chapter website:

a)  Design a content rotator using the wiki instructions on the backend of the website. If you have already created a content rotator go to step (b).

b)  Copy the form link automatically assigned to your Global Volunteer Form when you accepted the sign-up form package or when you’re created the form. If you forgot the link:

  1. Click ‘Your Website’ on the top navigation menu of your BSD Branch.
  2. Under Pages & Forms, click Sign-up.
  3. Find the Global Volunteer Form sign-up form, either by sorting and browsing or by searching.
  4. Copy the URL link under the title.

c)  Log into your website to edit the content rotator you would like to link the Sign-up form to and add the link to the CTA Button Link box (as shown in the image below)

You can also add the link or hyperlink the Sign-up form URL to any existing article (such as the Get Involved article). I suggest linking the Sign-up form to your ‘Welcome to [Chapter Name]’ rotator just like GLSEN Oregon and GLSEN Orlando have.
