Housekeeping Guide

You are living in the Bissell House Project. This is a special housing program designed for people with infectious tuberculosis (TB). Many people have benefited while staying in this project and we would like to continue to assist as many people as possible. With you help in caring for this household we can do this. Please keep the home clean and let us know if any repairs are needed.

All tenants are responsible for the following routine chores to maintain a clean and sanitary household. The house will be inspected at random to ensure that this is being done.

Kitchen:

1. Dishwashing- daily

2. Sweep & mop the floors as needed or weekly

3. Wipe counter tops and stove – right after spills or after cooking

4. Wipe the inside of the microwave after cooking

5. Wipe areas in the refrigerator if spills occur

6. Please do not place potato peels, onion peels, or meat down the garbage disposal

7. The garbage should be taken out daily or as needed. The trash container is behind apt # 1832

Bathroom:

1. Clean bathtub and sink – as needed or weekly

2. Mop floors – as needed or weekly

Living Room & Bedroom:

1. Sweep and mop floors when needed – the hardwood is treated so moping with water is sufficient

2. Dust furniture when needed

Laundry:

1. Your clothing, towels and bedding will be washed once a week. Place your soiled laundry in a plastic bag and will be taken to laundry mat and return to you the next day.

Thank you for abiding by these simple guidelines. This little house is a special addition to our housing program and is what allows this project to operate. We hope you will enjoy your stay in the comfort of a home.
