Superheroes

Here is your chance to create your very own superhero, complete with superhero powers!

First, think of a name for your superhero. It can be a man or woman, boy or girl – or even a cross between a human and an animal. Then make a list of his or her superhuman powers and write them in the box on the page below.

However, don’t just use words like big, fast, and strong to describe your hero. Use your thesaurus to find more interesting synonyms. For example your superhero might have massive muscles, supersonic speed, and powerful x-ray eyes. You will find lots of different synonyms for big, fast, and strong under those entries in your thesaurus.

You can also make up your own words using these prefixes which all mean ‘very’: extra-, ultra-, super-, mega-. For example, your superhero might have extra-sensitive nostrils, ultra-sharp eyes, super-strong grip, or mega-muscular arms.

If you need ideas for describing your superhero’s body, look up the panel for body in your thesaurus. If you want your hero to have animal powers (like Batman or Spiderman), then try looking up the animal and insect panels, too!

When you have finished your list, draw a diagram or picture of your superhero and label all of his or her superpowers.
