Hello fellow patriots,
My name is Brandon Shoemaker. I am the Chairperson of the Oakhurst Friends of NRA event. As most of you are aware, Friends gives the vast majority of event proceeds to non-profit (501c3) groups that support your shooting activities. Locally we support law enforcement Eddie Eagle programs, the Fresno State Gun Club, various ROTC units in our high schools and colleges, and range improvement projects to name a few. With that in mind I want to thank each of you for your support in attending our event, bidding and playing games while you’re there.
Bringing the event to fruition is challenging and very rewarding for myself, my family and the other volunteers. We are an all-volunteer organization. My hope is that you would consider volunteering as well. There is not a tremendous amount of effort during the year but we do sell raffle and event tickets as we get close to the event. Sales are mainly done in person to like-minded friends, family, co-workers, etc… Most of us even have a few liberal pro-gun friends who attended or buy in. There are several “perks” to being a volunteer: A designated volunteer committee member has a vote in recommending grants for approval, and we will have post event raffles.
The day of the event most of us commit the entire day to setting up, running games and keeping the energy moving in the room. If you’d be interested, I’d love to hear from you. We have some great family teams of volunteers including my own.
We also have a WINNER TAKES ALL three gun raffle that is on the attached event flyer. $50.00 per ticket with only 100 tickets being sold. I’ll even ship the guns to the FFL of your choice when you win. We will draw the winner when the 100th ticket is sold. Keep in mind that Friends is a designated non-profit organizations and money spent exceeding the value of goods and services received is tax deductible.
