Minutes of Planning Committee Meeting, 24th May 2012

Attendees:

Anne Higgins, Claire Risby, Kevin Hawes, Nancy Holmes, Dan Maher, John Smith, Charlotte Beare and Laura Hatch.

1.  Election of Chairman

Cllr Hawes proposed Cllr Higgins as Chairman and this was seconded by Cllr Maher and unanimously approved.

Cllr Higgins proposed Cllr Hawes as vice Chairman and this was seconded by Cllr Beare and unanimously approved.

2.  To accept Apologies for Absence

Cllr Tamplin.

3.  To hear members’ Declarations of Personal and Prejudicial Interest in matters to be discussed

Chair reminded Cllrs to report interests when applicable.

4.  Adoption of terms of reference

Several items were updated Cllr Hawes proposed the amended version be adopted this was seconded by Cllr Hatch and unanimously approved.

5.  Correspondence.

(i)  Various thanks for progressing signage issue – No action required.

(ii)  WDC reply to letter from HPC re Andbell tree felling – forwarded.

(iii)  Mr King Forest Spring – No action required

(iv)  Mr Paynter – No action required.

(v)  ESCC letter about pavement works – Clerk had replied to confirm ownership ESCC were awaiting go ahead from TCHG – No further action required.

(vi)  ESCC email and visit concerning tourist signage for Ashdown Park Hotel at Coach Road junction – There were no objections from the committee.

(vii)  Letter from Sam Stillman– site visit completed by Cllr Hatch and Cllr Higgins.

(viii)  Email from Charlie Lant - WDC concerning statistics on district and parish council planning decisions - Clerk will forward to committee members.

Cllr Hatch declared a personal interest.

The Parish Council has no objection to the extension.

The Parish Council objects to the double storey barn which is too large and imposing in the AONB.

The Parish Council objects to the gates and wall which are not in keeping with the rural environment and landscape.
