9.30 – 10.00 Welcome and introduction to the day
Kevin Rogers (County Inspector) will lead a session that explores the latest significant issues for music education in secondary schools. It will focus mainly on recent research into what makes ‘good’ music departments, as well as introducing new HMS resources to support creativity and composing.
10.00 – 11.00 New GCSE specifications
A time for everyone to share their experiences of teaching the new GCSE specifications. Delegates will work in board-specific groups, exploring questions of planning, resources, standards and related matters.
