Presentation Proposal Instructions

Presentation Opportunities

·  Texas Total Rewards Conference is a two-day regional conference with multiple speakers and topics offered as 25 – 40 concurrent sessions.

·  A typical breakout session is 45-60 minutes + 15 minutes for Q&A, and may be repeated.

·  Presentations by or including practitioners are recommended and highly valued.

·  We are particularly interested in educational topics that meet the curriculum and presentation standards for WorldatWork and HRCI credits.

Selection Process

·  Submit your proposal, sample handouts and any other material that will aid in understanding the specific topic and its relevance to Total Rewards Professionals. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

·  Please name the file you submit using the following syntax: Presentation.YourLastName.YourCompany

·  Submitted materials will be reviewed for content, originality, quality and relevance to program goals.

·  Professional references will be checked to verify presentation quality and skills.

·  If this proposal is accepted, you will be contacted by the committee to discuss dates, location and programs.

·  The Conference is solely responsible for the layout and production of all promotional pieces and reserves the right to edit program copy as needed.

Marketing Policy

Total rewards professionals attend this conference to further their knowledge on the latest trends and to learn techniques relevant to their jobs. Chosen speakers agree to refrain from promoting their products or services during their presentations.

We believe that knowledgeable speakers who provide their audiences with practical information on important issues in a professional manner will attract those interested in products and services of their own accord. Opportunities are available for promotion by purchasing a booth in the Exhibit Hall.

In the interest of our members, you agree to comply with the following restrictions if chosen to speak:

·  Selling or “raffling off” products or services is NOT allowed. Exceptions on the sale of authored, signed published books will be made on a case-by-case basis.

·  Soliciting attendee contact information for any purpose is not allowed. Contact initiated by the attendee is completely acceptable.

·  Videotaping and audio taping are prohibited unless approved in writing by the Conference office at least 30 days prior to the presentation.

Program PDFs

If your proposed topic is selected, an electronic soft copy of your presentation handouts in PDF format will be required 8 weeks in advance of the conference (Friday, July 20, 2012). Please forward to , so that your presentation may be uploaded to the conference website.

Speaker Fees and Expenses

The Conference does not pay speaker fees or reimburse expenses for the majority of the speaking opportunities. Travel and lodging arrangements are the responsibility of the speaker. The Conference will provide speakers with an outstanding opportunity for professional development, increased visibility and establishment of valuable contacts with a targeted audience.

Speaker Benefits

·  Registration: If selected as a presenter, you may attend the entire conference free of charge.

·  Session materials available online: The Conference produces an online version of the conference featuring the speakers’ handouts from the concurrent sessions.

·  If you send your handout PDF by the deadline (Friday, July 20, 2012), you will also have the opportunity to include one page of marketing material as the final page of your handout. Contributing your handouts increases your visibility and insures that Conference participants are able to pass your concepts on to others in their company and to contact you long after the event in the event their company might be interested in your expertise and services. The Conference reserves the right to edit submitted information as deemed appropriate.

If selected as a presenter, you will receive confirmation by March 5, 2012. You will receive a speaker’s packet providing your session time and location and room capacity two to three weeks prior to the conference.

Presentation Marketing Information

This information will be used at Conference discretion. The session title and summary, along with the biographical and other information you submit below may be edited, due to space limitations and/or style, and will be used to promote attendance, newsletters, programs, web announcements and as your introduction at the conference.

Give serious thought to your session topic, title, session description and session introduction. If you are selected as a speaker, this information will be used for promotional purposes and may not be changed later. New, original topics are highly valued.

Other equipment is available by special request and will incur an equipment charge. Based on room size and comments from previous conferences flip charts are discouraged.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

If selected, I understand that I will not receive a fee nor have expenses paid in exchange for my presentation. I agree to adhere to the schedule furnished by the conference. I understand that my presentation is not a showcase for promotion of my business, practice or product, and I will not “sell” my products or services from the speaker platform. I understand that the Conference is not responsible for shipping and/or printing charges. I agree to follow the regulations set forth in this agreement.
