GOAL SETTING MODEL

Step 1. Select the goal that you wish to reach—make sure it will be difficult, but still possible—AIM HIGH!!

Step 2. List the steps it will take in order to achieve the goal—look for ways to break a long term goal down into smaller, short-term goals.

Step 3. Identify sources of help to reaching your goal—it may be family, friends, teachers, coaches…etc.

Step 4. Set a reasonable time frame in order to achieve your goal, including times for the smaller, short term goals that you are including in the plan.

Step 5. Evaluate your progress—establish checkpoints to see how you are progressing and alter the plan for reaching the goal if you need to.

Step6. Reward yourself when you do achieve your goal—enjoy the personal satisfaction that reaching a goal brings. Try to include the people who helped you to reach the goal.
