1. Copy or backup your FRx SysData directory on the server. To locate it, in FRx go to Admin>>Organization>>Sysdata.
2. Insert the CD. It should start automatically. If it doesn’t, browse to the CD drive and double-click CDSetup.exe. Once the program begins, select Install Prerequisites and install Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8.
3. Back on the main screen, select Install FRx.
4. Click Next on the welcome screen.
5. Click Yes to accept the license agreement.
6. Click the box for Local Client, then click Next.
7. Accept the default program file location.
8. Accept the default SysData file location. IMPORTANT-do not browse to your shared SysData directory at this point. You will erase all of your FRx reports.
9. Click Next on the Program Folder window.
10. Click Next on the Start Copying Files window.
11. The program will begin installing.
12. If there are exceptions noted on the results screen, call Computer Resources. Otherwise, click OK.
13. Uncheck the box to view the documentation. Do not click the box to create the Desktop shortcuts. This creates a folder, not an icon. Click Finish. Then click Exit on the Installation screen.
14. Go to Start>>Programs>>FRx 6.7. Right click the Report Designer icon and send it to the Desktop.
15. Right click the desktop icon and rename it to “FRx”
16. Browse to the server. In the Great Plains shared directory there is a Service Packs directory. In this directory is an FRx Service Pack directory. Run the *.exe file in this directory.
17. Click Next on the welcome screens.
18. Click Next on the select products screen.
19. Accept the default on the choose location screen. Click Next.
20. Click Next on the start installation screen.
21. The program will begin copying files.
22. Click Finish on the completed screen.
23. Launch FRx and log in to the Fabrikam Works company.
24. In FRx, go to Admin>>Organization. Click on the Sysdata button.
25. On the Change SYSDATA Directory window, click on the browse button next to New directory and browse to the sysdata directory on the server. Use the same path name as the existing FRx install. Then click OK.
26. You will be prompted to restart FRx.
27. Launch FRx again. You should now see your companies.
