Please note: Some images in this guide, may differ than what is seen on your screen. This should not impact your setup, since the process is generally the same.

General Information

·  If you have received a new or replacement phone, please activate it first.

·  If your phone is active and can send and receive calls, then proceed to Installing MobileIron.

·  To avoid syncing conflicts, you must remove any previous WAXIE accounts from your phone

·  MobileIron will notify you if your device is not compliant with the security policies and configurations

The guide will configure the following items:

·  Google Gmail Account Sign-in

·  MobileIron Mobile@Work Registration

·  4-digit lock screen passcode

·  Configure Email access through NitroDesk TouchDown

·  Remove your old WAXIE email account (if applicable)

·  Uninstall Restricted Applications (if applicable)

Activating Your Phone

1.  Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to power on the phone
2.  Select English and Start
3.  Your phone should now be activated. Click Start the setup to continue
4.  Click Next
5.  Uncheck Restore my contacts and Documents, then press Next
6.  Click Done with email
7.  Click Next
8.  Mark the box to the right of Verizon Location Services
9.  Click Agree to enable Verizon Location Services
10.  Mark the box to the right of Standalone GPS Services
11.  Click Agree to enable Standalone GPS services
12.  Mark the box to the right of Google Location Services
13.  Select Agree to enable Google Location Services
14.  After all Location services have been enabled, press Next
15.  Click Next to continue
16.  Click Next to enter your Google Account
17.  Select Yes
18.  Enter your Google Email Address and Password and press Done
19.  Uncheck the box and click OK
20.  Select Not now
21.  If prompted to set up your credit card, select Not now
22.  Uncheck both boxes and click the arrow in the right corner
23.  Click Done to finish the setup wizard
24.  You should now be at your phone’s main desktop

Installing and Configuring MobileIron

1.  Click Play Store
2.  Select the magnifying glass at the top to open the search field
3.  Type mobileiron then click the magnifying glass in the bottom right corner
4.  Select Mobile@Work by MobileIron
5.  Click Install
6.  Click Accept & download to install MobileIron
7.  After the download has finished click Open
8. 
9.  Enter the 6-digit Registration PIN from the MIS email and select Register
Note: If you do not have a Registration PIN, please contact
10.  Click Activate
11.  Click Activate again
12.  Click Google Play Apps
13.  Click TouchDown for SmartPhones
14.  Press View
15.  Click Install /
16.  Click Accept
17.  Once you see OPEN, use the back button to go return to the email setup
18.  Select Go to Email Setup
19.  At the bottom press Set Passcode
20.  Select PIN
21.  Enter a 4-digit PIN/Passcode and select Continue
WAXIE recommends that you use the last 4 digits of your cell phone number
22.  Re-enter your PIN and press OK to confirm
23.  Select Begin Setup
24.  Click I Accept
25.  Click I Accept again
26.  Enter your WAXIE email password and select Next
27.  MobileIron and TouchDown are both configured and will begin syncing your information

Accessing Email with TouchDown

1.  Open Apps
2.  Find and select TouchDown /
3.  You should now have access to your email, contacts, calendar, and tasks

Removing Previous WAXIE Accounts

1.  Open Apps
2.  Find and select Settings
3.  Select Corporate or ActiveSync under Accounts
4.  Click the account name
5.  Click the Menu Button and choose Remove account
6.  Click Remove account again to delete the account

Uninstall Applications

Email will not function if restricted applications are detected. You must remove these apps to sync with WAXIE.

1.  Open Apps
2.  Find and select Settings
3.  Find and select Application manager
4.  Click the application you want to uninstall. In this case, Dropbox
5.  Select Uninstall
6.  Click OK
7.  The application has been uninstalled. Click OK to close this window
