CONTRACT INFORMATION – Effective 7/1/2015
FOR FURNISHING: SCIENCE EDUCATION SUPPLIES - STATEWIDE TERM CONTRACT
CONTRACT TERM: May 14, 2013 – May 13, 2018
Contracts have been awarded to (click on contractor name to go to their summary) Carolina Biological, Fisher, Frey, Sargent Welch and Ward’s offering a percentage off of the currently published hard copy and digital/e- catalog prices. The percentage discount is firm for the life of the contract although greater discounts are acceptable at any time. Discounts apply to the unit of measure as published and are applicable to any unit of measure such as each, case, package, or lot, and quantity discounts if applicable.
Other factors and terms may affect price. Users are encouraged to shop within the contract. A higher discount does not necessarily mean it is the lowest net price. Be aware of minimum order requirements to receive free shipping. In addition, other allowable shipping and handling charges may apply for live/perishable and hazardous material products, expedited shipping or truck/motor freight delivery. Contact the vendor for a written quote on shipping where these special handling circumstances apply and set prices are not stated on the vendor’s summary.
Routine catalog items will be shipped within five (5) working days from receipt of order although days after receipt of order (ARO) should be specified on the purchase order. Contractors are required to track backorders and advise on the status of orders when applicable. This shall include notification that an item is backordered and the expected delivery date or if an item is no longer available or discontinued and if there is a substitution available.
Approved contract price is as published in the current nationally distributed hard copy catalogs or digital/e-catalogs copies which are same as a hard copy catalog. If the digital/e-catalog is available, the link is on their Summary Table. Contractors will update and publish new catalogs annually. The prices will be effective for the next annual cycle commencing January 1 through December 31. Although users may utilize the on-line shopping tools to search and find products, pricing should be based on the current hard copy catalog price or the digital/e-catalog, and orders placed via a Purchase Order.
EXCLUSIONS
Items that are excluded from the contract will not be subject to the terms and conditions established under this contract and will require proper competition. Non-contract and Contract purchases may not be made on the same Purchase Order. In addition to the following State exclusion to this contract, contractor’s may have additional exclusions and those are stated on their respective Summary Tables.
· Precious metals (not including chemicals containing precious metals)
· All Microscopes and their accessories (prepared slides are not considered microscope accessories and are allowed)
· Computer equipment which requires State IT approval
· Specialty chemicals preferred for research use obtainable for under $500 per line item (general lab chemicals used in school settings are not considered specialty).
· All equipment and laboratory furniture with a unit list price of $50,000 or more.
· Items covered under other existing contracts
