Flex Learning: Blended Online and In-person Volunteer Training
Programs interested in participating in the Flex Learning Curriculum need to complete the Flex Learning Request Form which follows. The program pays a $75 course fee and sends in a completed Flex Learning Student Roster. Once these items are received and the training dates have been approved, a Flex Learning course will be set up for the program and links and instructions will be sent to the program contact.
An online Facilitator Training will be required for those charged with facilitating the Flex Learning Curriculum. This training will explain the logistics of using a Moodle course and tips for how to monitor the online portion. Please check the NCASA Training Calendar to learn of upcoming dates for these training sessions.
Please note:
· Flex Learning Request Forms must be submitted at least two (2) months in advance of your requested start date (the date you want participants to begin the online portion of the course, one week in advance of the Session One in-person class). We recommend submitting your request at least four (4) months in advance for the autumn and spring. You may request dates up to one year in advance.
· A separate Flex Learning Request Form must be completed for each Flex Learning course being requested.
· The number of Flex Learning courses running at any given time is limited, therefore, requests will be approved on a first come, first serve basis. There may be times when we are unable to accommodate your requested dates. To meet the needs of the entire CASA/GAL Network, the number of courses that a single state or local program offers per year may be limited.
· Courses are functional only during the duration of the training (typically 5 weeks), although facilitators will access to course one week prior to the start date as well as access to participant information after the course is closed.
· There is a 15 student maximum for each course.

Facilitators will be given access to the course one (1) week in advance of the Training start date (the date you want participants to begin the online portion of the course, one week in advance of the Session One in-person class). Please provide a second choice start date in case your first choice is not available.
