TEXTILE FOR TENSIONED FABRIC STRUCTURES

Specifier Notes: This section covers Ferrari Textiles “Precontraint® 502 Color Design textile used for tensioned fabric structures, tents, awnings, & canopies. Ferrari Textiles manufacturers the textile and does not manufacture or install tensioned fabric structures. Consult Ferrari Textiles for assistance in editing this section for the specific application.

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Quality Management System: ISO 9001.

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. Delivery: Deliver textile to fabricator of tensioned fabric structures in manufacturer’s original, unopened containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying product name and manufacturer.

B. Storage: Store textile in clean, dry area indoors in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.

C. Handling: Protect textile during handling to prevent damage in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.

1.7 WARRANTY

A. Warranty Period: Warrant textile for 5 years for tension structure application or 8 years in fixed awning application.

2.3 FABRICATION

1. Instruct fabricator of tensioned fabric structures in proper methods of assembly of panels by edge abrasion of surface treatment and use of high-frequency welding by overlapping edges.

2. Provide fabricator of tensioned fabric structures with abrasion machine and train fabricator in operation.
