2. Organ System: Organs that work together to do a job for the body.

3. Cell: The basic unit of structure and function in living things.

4. Microorganisms: Living thing that is too small to see without a microscope.

5. Tissue: Cells that work together to perform a specific function.

6. Organ: Group of tissues that work together to carry out certain functions.

7. Mold: Fungus that is a microorganism.

8. Protists: Microorganisms that include algae and protozoans.

9. The activities of both plant and animal cells are controlled by a nucleus within a cell.

10. A cell wall is only found in a plant cell.

11. Microorganisms can be harmful by causing red tides.

12. Connective tissue is found on the bones of your body.

13. The mitochondria releases energy from nutrients and is in plant and animal cells.

14. The nucleus is a sphere that directs the cell’s activities. Without the nucleus the cells may not be able to do everything it needs for survival.

15. Microorganisms can be helpful by creating food for people to eat.

16. If the circulatory system did not have muscle tissue it would not be able to pump blood to all the different parts of the body.

17. Cells in single-celled organisms carry out all their life functions.

18. Cells in multi-celled organisms carry out all the functions necessary to stay alive. They also work together with the other cells to keep the organisms alive.
