Background: Northwest Hardwoods is a world-class, integrated, global supplier of wood products to the furniture, cabinet, molding and millwork industries. We serve the industrial market segment worldwide. We are searching for a candidate who is a team player with a can do attitude who enjoys a challenge.
Business change and growth requires the international group to hire an individual in order to maintain its superior supply chain standards. This person will be an integral member of the export documentation team, as well as working closely with other supply chain groups such as transportation, export customer service; in house and overseas. Daily interaction with external contacts such as shipping lines and banks also required. The successful candidate will be one who shows an ability to grow and change with the needs of the business.
Key Functions: Daily management of processing a high volume of export shipments and preparing export documentation. Export Documentation is used to clear customs and request payment. A high standard of timeliness and accuracy is a must. Communicate status of documentation to customers or overseas staff when requested.
Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, expert understanding of export documentation including Letters of credit (L/Cs), ocean B/L’s. The ability to learn and adapt to a changing team based work environment, organizational skills which include management of multiple priorities and working well under pressure. Daily activities include shipment processing, export documentation preparation, scanning incoming payments to ensure documents are sent to customers/banks timely. Strong PC skills required, to include Word, Excel and ability to learn our internal system.
