Prospectus and Submission Form

Submissions: This show is about our depictions of the animals who live in a symbiotic relationship with us.

Please send submissions to: Loren Smedberg, Event Curator
You can submit images of up to four pieces of original artwork for consideration. We will jury the show from the digital photos of your art work that you send in. We recommend that you submit good quality photos that show your work in good lighting and without distracting backgrounds. The images should be large enough to view clearly on a 1280 x 800 screen. It is okay to send high resolution images, but please keep the file sizes under 2 MB each.

Important Dates:
Entry deadline: December 18th 2010
Notification of acceptance / non acceptance by email on January 2, 2011
Art delivery: Sunday, January 9th, 1-4 PM
Opening Reception: Saturday, January 15th, 4-9 PM
Show Dates: January 15th -February 12th, 2010
Art pickup: Sunday February 13th , 1-4 PM
(Art left after this date must have prearrangements for pickup.)

Open to all media; all pieces must be ready to hang/display, also attach artist name & name of artwork on small card on back of painting/ drawings or on bottom of 3d pieces. Please note - saw tooth hangers, glass clips and unframed studio canvas are unacceptable, however gallery wrapped canvas with painted edge will be okay. Paintings should use picture wire for hanging.
There will be a 25% commission taken on sold works.

Entry fee shall be $ 10.00 for the first accepted piece & $ 5.00 for each additional accepted piece and will only be collected on accepted entries, and shall be due on the delivery date.

LAW will provide e-mail postcard and press release distribution/advertising.
Artists responsible for sending e-mail postcard to their own e-mail lists.
All entries shall be original work produced by the artist and marketed for sale at prices determined by the artist.

The Domestic Animals Show reserves the right to photograph work submitted for the purpose of publicizing the show, and it is intended that successfully juried entries will also be displayed in an online virtual gallery.

However I, Loren Smedberg, Lowell Art Works, the building owners and tenant artists do not assume responsibility for loss or damage that might be incurred during this process, and encourage each artist to carry their own insurance.
