The Bachelor of Emergency and Security Management Studies is a comprehensive program combining studies in emergency management, disaster planning, business continuity, risk and crisis management, security and intelligence, business administration, and leadership and management. This program is available completely online and can be taken full time or part time. Students have the option of exiting the program at the halfway point with a Diploma in Emergency and Security Management.
The JIBC is recognized nationally and internationally for innovative education in the areas of justice and public safety. The JIBC offers a range of applied and academic programs that span the spectrum of safety—from prevention and mitigation to response and recovery. As part of the JIBC School of Public Safety and Security, the Emergency Management Division has been educating emergency management leaders in Canada and internationally for more than 20 years. In addition to Bachelor of Emergency and Security Management Studies, the Emergency Management Division also offers an Emergency Management Certificate and an Exercise Design Certificate.
This is the second time Ms. Wareing has attended the Higher Education Conference. Her purpose in attending is to learn more about other emergency management higher education programs (students, faculty, and curriculum) and to network with other attendees.
