Production Technician II

Reports to Chief of Production

Manufacturer of automated pay stations located in Petaluma has an immediate full time opening for a Production Technician II. The primary task for this position is to follow all appropriate work instructions and drawings to assure accurate assembly of all pay station versions. The candidate must have the ability to work in an extremely busy, timeline sensitive production environment! This firm is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer.

Responsibilities:

Pay Station Assemblies (75%)

·  Assembles all types of pay stations

·  Follows the production schedule and associated Work Orders and Sales Orders

·  Follows appropriate Work Instructions and Drawings to assure that the assembly is assembled efficiently and correctly the first time

·  Works with QA/QC to achieve assurance conformance to applicable quality requirements

·  Keeps his/her Lead informed of problems or potential safety hazards and actively implementing approved corrective actions

·  Searches for and recommends ways to improve assembly methods and procedures that could potentially lower production costs and/or improve product quality/reliability

·  Notifies Lead of any needed changes

Other Duties as Assigned (25%)

·  Assembles all electronic sub-assemblies including cables for all of our products

·  Basic repair of sub-assemblies

·  Stays current on configuration of pay station components and configuration of controllers

·  Packs and ships spare parts orders.

·  Performs tests of electric sub-assemblies to specifications

·  As assigned by the Chief of Production, performs other duties and works on special projects

·  Ability to effectively communicate and interact with peers and associates in a team environment is very important

·  Ability to accomplish tasks with minimum supervision

·  Ability to use small hand tools with skill and accuracy

·  Ability to understand electronic schematics, drawings, and blue prints

·  Ability to accurately identify electronic parts

·  Understands basic electronic principles

·  Ability to set up and follow test procedures

·  Ability to solder to MIL specifications

·  Basic problem solving, deductive and inductive reasoning skills

·  Visual acuity at close and medium range

·  Manual and finger dexterity

·  Ability to focus on a task over a period of time without being distracted

·  Ability to stand and move about for long periods while working

Requirements

·  AS or AA in Electronic Technology or 5 years of equivalent experience

·  Experience, training or coursework in mechanical drawing and other industrial arts shop classes are a plus

·  General PC skills

·  Must be able to lift 50 lbs. periodically
