Admission to the Eberhardt MBA Program is competitive and based on criteria that indicate significant promise for success in the Eberhardt MBA Program and in a professional career. Your performance in prior academic coursework, on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), and your professional and personal accomplishments are all considered in the admission decision.
A U.S. bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university is required for admission. This degree may be in any field. No previous study in business administration or management experience is required; Foreign language competency is considered an asset.
You should submit a completed application and by one of the deadlines for the fall semester. MBA admissions decisions will be made on completed application beginning April 1.
Filing an Application
All application materials become the property of University of the Pacific and will not be returned or forwarded to another institution. Only the MBA Admissions Committee, on behalf of the Dean of the Eberhardt School of Business, has the authority to admit or deny admission. Statements about admission, either expressed or implied (verbally or written) from any other source, are not official and will not be honored.
The completed application packet must be submitted before the MBA Admissions Committee can render a final decision. The required materials include:
Application for Admission
To apply, fill out the Application for Admission in this packet or complete the online application. Before you fill out the application be sure to carefully read all of the instructions. Please complete the application accurately and fully. If a particular question does not apply to you put “N/A” in the appropriate space. Please type or print legibly in black ink all information requested on the application. Be sure to sign the application to certify that all the information you have given is complete and accurate.
Please note that the Ethnic Origin, Gender, and Parental questions are entirely optional—you are not required to respond. Transcripts
You must submit an official transcript of your academic work from every college or university you have attended as either an undergraduate or graduate student. Failure to acknowledge and submit all records is grounds to deny or revoke admission, or for dismissal from the University or revocation of degrees earned.
If work is in progress, you must request a current transcript and an additional transcript must be sent at the end of the term showing final grades and degree received.
Note: Transcripts must be submitted with the application packet in the institution’s original sealed envelope. Photocopies of transcripts submitted from any other source will not be accepted as official documents.
Essay
You must submit an essay of interest and intent for each question posed. Please follow the directions and limit your responses to the length stipulated.
You should give considerable time and thought to your essay. The essay is an important element in the admissions decision process for it provides a personalized picture of you. Please be sure to answer each question succinctly and carefully.
Letters of Recommendation
Two recommendation forms are provided in this packet. You must complete the top section of each form before giving it to your recommenders. Whenever possible, one recommendation should be from an instructor and the other from an internship or work supervisor.
Each person recommending you must use one of the forms and mail it directly to you in a sealed and signed envelope, which you must submit with your application. Copies of any kind are not acceptable.
Letters of recommendation are not made part of your permanent educational record. Therefore, you will not have access to your letters of recommendation, as they are not subject to the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (commonly known as the “Buckley Amendment”).
