Our Fund-Raisers

Each year the Casas Adobes Rotarians sponsor three events:

Ø $20,000 raffle (100% to Casas Adobes Rotary Foundation)

Ø Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Party *

Ø Golf Tournament *

The net proceeds from these three events fund our annual projects. The persons receiving the benefit are our youth, our Tucson-area underprivileged citizens, and our international underprivileged citizens.

In order to maximize the monies available to fund our activities, we use event sponsors (*) to underwrite our expenses. Costs to conduct our events comes from support from our friends in the Tucson community – corporations, individuals, Rotarians, etc. – This support makes our community service activities more productive. A typical year, including matching grants from Rotary International for eligible international projects, approaches $100,000 in benefits given.

We thank you for any assistance you can provide to us.

Casas Adobes Rotary Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization. Contributions, less the cost of food served, are income tax-deductible.

Our Benefactors

The Casas Adobes Rotary (CAR) Club Foundation (CARF) receives financial support only from our benefactors:

Ø Participants in our fund-raisers

Ø Contributors to our endowment

Ø Casas Adobes Rotarians through their dues and other internal fund-raising projects

Support of our fund-raisers will provide monies directly in support of our local and international community service projects. We have no overhead, consequently 100% of dollars received benefit the less fortunate people we serve.

Our Youth Projects

Our focus is on youth activities. To this end, we sponsor an annual recognition breakfast to honor the 8th graders who have been identified by their schools as true leaders according to four criteria. Each year the 150 8th graders from northwest Tucson area schools, along with their parents and school representatives, are treated to a breakfast banquet where students are recognized, awards are given and a leadership topic is presented by a well-known civic, athletic, or business person. Each student’s name is engraved on a plaque at his/her school, and individual certificates are presented to each student.

The students are tracked over the next four years in high school and are invited to participate in two summer Leadership Programs, to assist CAR members in local community service projects, to participate in Rotary-sponsored local, national, and international programs, and to have an opportunity to join a high school Rotary club,

known as Interact. They are candidates to become or to host international exchange students. They are candidates to compete for our annual college scholarships when they become seniors in high school.
