BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT/PROCEDURES/TRANSITIONS/MORNING MEETINGS

q  MI - The layout shows hoe children move from station to station to due their work.

q  C- Procedure from them to go to the bathroom. Take a hall pass and return in 5 minutes.

TEACHING STRATEGIES/METHODS/APPROACHES… (WAYS TO TEACH>HOW YOU SET UP THE LESSON)

q  MI – Teacher can use a graphic organizer (visual-spatial MI)to find out what children know about a topic.

q  C- The teacher has prepared a block station for children to explore with blocks.

LEARNER’S ROLE… WHAT STUDENT DOES.

q  MI- The student chooses several stations in which to participate. Each station is a different MI activity.

q  C - The student is responsible for reading the directions in the station.

TEACHER’S ROLE… WHAT TEACHER DOES.

q  MI- The teacher plans activities using a variety of the MIs so that each child can master the subject matter.,

q  C- The teacher is a guider and helper to the children. She/he rotates from center to center to work with individual children.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT…

q  MI- The teacher has a book corner with bookshelves, comfortable pillows, and a rug.

q  C- The teacher may an art station, math station, library area, reading area, and science lab area.

CLASSROOM MATERIALS…

q  MI- Materials for activities are located in each station.

q  C- The teacher will have lots of research materials handy for children like computers, books and videos.

ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION/GRADING… WAYS A TEACHER WILL EVALUATE PROGRESS AND RECORD WORK .

q  MI- The students will keep track of their progress in each station by keeping a folder that shows their progress.

q  C- The teacher will rotate to different stations to check on students’ progress. He/she will check activity and ask questions.

COLLABORATION/COOPERATION… CHILDREN TO CHILDREN; CHILDREN TO ADULT; ETC.

q  MI- Students will on projects in pairs. One will be the reader, the other will be the writer for the book activity.

q  C- The teacher makes effort during large group discussion to teach the children how to listen and question each other with respect.

DIVERSITY… LOOK AT LIST IN YOUR JOURNAL FOR TYPES OF DIVERISTY.

q  MI- Each child may have their own folder with their set of MI activities to work for the day.

q  C- Because the children are learning to be independent learners, they can choose an activity of their interest.

TECHNOLOGY… THINK OF HOW IT IS USE IN THE CLASSROOM WITH ACTIVITIES…LOOK FOR MORE THAN COMPUTERS.

q  MI- The stations will have computers to reinforce a skill or concept like learning how to do math addition and subtraction by counting animals or fruit.

q  C- She will run a video in a station to show a science activity. The students will complete a project based on the video.
