Vehicle Issue / Customers may complain of a cyclic drone or vibration when traveling at speeds of 50-60 mph Things we know at this time: -MTS 4100 indicates a 1st order driveline disturbance which is only present with the rear propshaft installed -Issue is isolated to 9.25 model axles with 3.92 ratio gears -Issue has presented itself with both 17 and 20 inch wheels -Issues is present on all engine packages
System or Component / Drone;Customer Concern (No DTCs);Group 03 - Axle / Driveline / Propeller Shaft,Propeller Shaft
Recommendation / It has been brought to our attention that this issue may be combined with or mistaken as a basic system imbalance condition. Before making any axle repairs, please index the rear prop shaft and system balance as necessary to minimize the affects of any system imbalance. Also, try indexing the shaft at the trans/t-case output 90 degrees at a time as this has shown significant improvement on several vehicles.

Recommendation / Suggest replace tailpipe assembly. Remove factory tailpipe assembly and install new design tailpipe assembly with resonator (P/N 52122020AA). See Exhaust System Repair, section (11) in TechCONNECT for procedure details. On vehicle underbody below C-pillar, exhaust system side of vehicle, locate the body attaching bolt that protrudes downward. Install mass weight (P/N 52122188AA) at that point which will help tune out the drone / resonance noise.
