Dr. Peter Tippett

Peter Tippett, MD, PhD, is considered a pioneer and foremost authority on health IT – with diverse credits ranging from serving on the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee (PITAC) to creating the first commercial anti-virus product. Tippett most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer and VP of industry solutions at Verizon. Tippett has led the computer security industry for more than 20 years, initially as a vendor of security products, and more recently as a key strategist. He is widely credited with creating the first commercial anti-virus product that later became Norton AntiVirus. Tippett is frequently quoted and has written many articles and papers on enterprise information technology, health IT and information security.
