Diana’s Delight’s to reopen in mid-Aug.

Friday, May 21, 2010 11:48 AM EDT

GAYLORD — Diana’s Delight’s owner Kimberly Roney is the daughter of the late Diana Roney, founder of the downtown Gaylord restaurant

whose name was synonymous with “great food” for 25 years.

On Feb. 27, Kimberly closed the Phoenix Building location with a goal in mind to purchase her own storefront and reopen this summer.

This week Kimberly was “finally able to close on the deal” to purchase the building that was the home of Nelson’s Drugs for many years.

“Right now, I am just so excited,” Roney said. “I should be feeling relieved, but instead I just feel all jittery. There is so much to do!

“We’re not changing staff and we’re not changing (the) menu,” she added. “We’re just flipping it across the street.”

Plans are under way for Diana’s to be serving delightful food to loyal customers by the middle of August.
