DEVIL’S THUMB RANCH – 5000 ACRES OF RAW COLORADO

Less then ten miles from Winter Park, tucked neatly at the base of the Continental Divide, Devil’s Thumb Ranch offers both relaxation and mountain-style adventure. Compared to other more commercial-feeling properties, our goal is to welcome you and your team as an old friend. You’ll be comfortable from the minute you arrive on our 5000 acres. Just 70 miles from Denver, we’re an accessible and unique mountain get away that your group will remember for years to come.

GUEST ACCOMMODATIONS AT DEVIL’S THUMB RANCH

Far from your everyday resort, Devil’s Thumb Ranch offers spectacular accommodations in an authentic Rocky Mountain setting that will motivate, inspire and invigorate your team. We have 16 Ridge Top Cabins for special occasions, couples and families, and a 52-room lodge when numerous private spaces for quiet moments. Lodge rooms feature hand-chosen antique furniture, cozy bathrobes, substantial down comforters, heated bathroom floors, soft down pillows and many have fireplaces and separate sitting areas.

The Lodge is also home to a 37-person movie theater, game arcade, fitness center and coffee shop. To encourage total relaxation and peace, there are no televisions in our guest rooms however the game room, fitness center and Heck’s Tavern have televisions with satellite service.

DINING AT DEVIL’S THUMB RANCH

Ranch House Restaurant & Saloon has long been recognized as the best fine dining venue in Grand County, and is probably the best purveyor of New American Mountain cuisine in the state. Located in the original 1937 homestead of the Ranch, it offers spectacular views of the Continental Divide and Ranch Creek Valley. Perfect for special celebrations large or small, the setting is mountain casual with a creative menu that appeals to “foodies” and regular folks alike. Ranch House Restaurant boasts an impressive wine list with 400+ domestic and international selections.

Ranch House Restaurant is open for dinner only. Average entrée cost is $30. (A good estimate is $50 per person, before wine/beverages/gratuity.)

Heck’s Tavern is located in our Lodge and is open for three meals a day. We offer casual tavern-style fare in a hearty ranch style. Breakfast menu prices range from $10 to $15 per entrée. Lunch and dinner menus vary and include offerings like homemade soup, salad and sandwiches, chicken, meatloaf, ribs and sirloin burgers. Lunch entrees are $12 to $20 per person before taxes and gratuities. We are happy to also arranged catered buffets in Heck’s Tavern, ranging from $15-$25 per person.

Hallowed Grounds is our on-site coffee and pastries quick stop. Delicious hand made breads, rolls, soups and sandwiches are available here along with a coffee, latte and tea selection to rival anything you’ll find in the city.

John L’s Wine is not only well stocked with vintages to complement any meal in the Ranch House Restaurant or Saloon, it’s also an intimate and elegant private dining room with a bit of history built right in. The beautiful cherry wine racks and beams were crafted from 150-year-old cherry trees harvested on the owner’s family land in Adirondack Park in New York. Known hereabouts as John L’s Wine Cellar, it’s named in memory of two family members.

MEETING & FUNCTION SPACE AT DEVIL’S THUMB RANCH

We have several options for gathering spaces for your group. From quiet break-out sessions in a barrel-shaped wine cellar to large presentations in the 25,000 sq. foot Broad Axe Barn, we’re able to accommodate nearly any need.

The winter months on our 5000 acres are incomparable. We’re home to an award-winning Nordic Center with more than 125 km of groomed trails. Enjoy all the Colorado Rocky Mountains have to offer without leaving the Ranch;

Ranch Creek Spa offers a chance to renew body and spirit; Massages, soaks, facials, hand and foot treatments – all with natural, botanic ingredients in a comfortable atmosphere that is equally relaxing for women and men.

Nearby, you’ll find hot air ballooning, three championship golf courses, boating and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Additional pricing for activities is based on 160-180 persons attending.

Discounted Rate: $210.00 per room night (typically $260.00+)

Please note: Although there is availability at the time of this writing, these rooms are currently not on hold.

All rates are subject to local sales and accommodations tax of 6.2%. For our guests’ convenience, a $5/day service fee is charged to cover lodging gratuities, including housekeeping, baggage wranglers and concierge. The above dates are on a space-available basis and are not currently on hold.

Thank you for your interest in booking dinner/silent auction space for the night of February 25th. Winter Park Mountain Lodge has a 3,000 sq. ft. ballroom that can accommodate 200 people in rounds of 10. As you do not need lodging, our fees for the ballroom are as follows:

Site Fee: $1,500. This includes room setup, table and chair rental, linens, glassware, tableware, staff.

Food/Beverage Minimum: $4,000 before tax and gratuity.

Site fee will be waived if your Food/Beverage revenue is $5,000 or more before tax/gratuity.

I have attached our current banquet menu for your review. I have also attached a photo of the ballroom. Please let me know if you would like to book our ballroom for the night of February 25th.
