Eligibility Criteria
Masters Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks. B+ grade at Master's Degree (SC/ST and physically challenged/disabled candidates will get 5% relaxation in Post-Graduation marks).
Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination but their results are still awaited, can appear in the entrance test but they will have to submit the original certificates of the qualifying examination before the commencement of the course work, otherwise their admission will be cancelled.
Important Dates
Ø Registration for Test Starts w.e.f: 13thJune, 2017.
Ø Last Date for Filling Applications Form: 20thJune, 2017.
Ø Last Date for Filling Applications Form with late fee of Rs. 3000/-. :( 21st June to 23 rd June, 2017.)
Ø On the spot Registration for Entrance Test, (Till 8:30AM) with late fee of Rs. 10000/- .
Ø Date of Entrance Test: 24thJune., 2017.(Saturday)
Ø Duration of Test: 11:00 A.M.–1:00 P.M. Reporting time is 9:30 AM
Ø The Schedule for Personal Interview will be intimated on the day of entrance test. The candidates are required to get the schedule on the day of entrance test from the office of Research Cell.
Ø The result of entrance test will be declared after the conduct of interviews.
Ø The schedule of commencement of course work classes will be notified at the time of declaration of the result of the entrance test.

Instructions for Filling On-Line Admission Form for Entrance Test
Ø Candidates seeking admission in Ph.D/M. Phil are required to appear in the Entrance Test to be conducted on 24thJune, 2017.
Ø The candidates can apply for the entrance test either through online mode.
o Application through Online Mode
Ø The form for entrance test is available at the university website, www.deshbhagatuniversity.in.
Ø The candidates are required to upload their photograph, scanned copy of the certificate of matriculation, Master’s degree and fee slip.
Ø Upon successful submission of the form, Admit Card will be generated online. For appearing in the entrance test, the candidate is required to produce the admit card and the original fee slip.
EXEMPTION FROM THE ENTRANCE TEST
Ø Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET/CSIR (JRF) Examination/SLET/GATE or are Teacher fellowship holders or DST (INSPIRE/ICMR/any other National Agency Fellow or have Ph.D. Degree in any other subject from a recognized University, are exempted from appearing in the entrance test,the selection of these candidates will be based on their performance in the interview as well as on their overall academic merit.
Ø Candidates who have obtained M.Phil. degree with minimum B+ grade or equivalent from Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh or any other recognized University as a regular student and whose admission at the M.Phil level has been through an entrance test, are exempted from appearing in the entrance test for Ph.D. Programme.
Ø The candidates seeking exemption from entrance test will have to apply for the same by filling up the application form for exemption. The form can be obtained from the office of Dean Research with a payment of Rs. 1000. The candidates applying for exemption are required to submit the filled form along with self-attested copies of all the certificates to the Research latest by 21st June, 2017.
Ø The applications for exemption will be securitized and the list of exempted students will be displayed on the University Website by 23rd June, 2017. These candidates are required to attend the interview as per the schedule displayed on the website after the declaration of the result.
General Instructions
Ø The reporting time for the Entrance Test is 9:30 AM.
Ø The candidates should bring the original receipt of the fee paid and original Admit Card.
Ø The candidates are advised to check their eligibility before applying for the test.
Ø The clearance of entrance test does not entitle a candidate for admission. The admission will be finalized on the basis of the final merit list to be prepared after the conduct of personal interview and
o Checking of original documents of the candidate.
Ø The Question paper will consist of four sections A, B, C and D.
Ø Section A will be based on ‘Research Methodology’ and will carry 30 marks. There will be 30 multiple choice type questions in this section carrying one mark each.
Ø Section B will be based on ‘Functional English Language’ carrying 15 marks. There will be 15 multiple choice type questions in this section carrying one mark each.
Ø Section C will be based on Functional Knowledge of Computer carrying 15 marks. There will be 15 multiple choice type questions in this section carrying one mark each.
Ø Section D will be based on the syllabus of Master level course in the core subject and there will be 40 multiple choice type questions in this section carrying one mark each

Ø The candidates should use Black/Blue ball point pen only.
Ø There will be NO NEGATIVE marking.
Ø COURSE WORK FOR Ph.D
Ø All selected Ph.D/M.Phil students will have to attend the course work for one semester, as per the schedule notified at the time of interview.
Ø The Candidates, who have done M.Phil as a regular student from a recognized university and have studied Research Methodology as one of the subjects, are exempted from course work. Such Students are
Required to submit the DMC of M.Phil for the exemption from course work at the time of interview. Ph.D. Students who have done M.Phil through Distance Education are NOT EXEMPTED from course work.
