The University of Texas Health Science Center School of Nursing, one of five schools in a thriving South Texas Medical Center, is a vibrant growing School, dedicated to serving the South Texas community and beyond. We are committed to excellence in education, research and practice. Research centers such as the Barshop Center for Aging, Cancer Therapy and Research Center, Academic Center for Evidence Based Practice and the Center for Community-Based Health Promotion in Women and Children provide extensive intra- and inter-disciplinary teaching and research opportunities in a multicultural environment. This well established School of Nursing with over 100 faculty and 9,000 professional graduates, offers BSN, MSN, DNP (pending approval) and PhD programs of study. Our city’s health care systems such as Baptist, Christus Santa Rosa, Methodist and University provide rich opportunities for collaboration.

We invite doctorally prepared individuals to apply for tenured, tenure track and clinical track positions at junior and senior ranks. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Preference is for applicants with post doctoral experience and/or academic experience. Preparation as an advanced practice nurse and/ or specialty certification is welcomed. Successful applicants will receive appointments in either the Department of Family & Community Health Systems or the Department of Health Restoration & Care Systems Management.

Health Disparities, Nurse Practitioners (Acute Care, Family, Pediatric, Psych/Mental Health), Chronic Disease Management: Diabetes, Genetics, Palliative Care, Cancer Prevention and Management, Informatics, Health Outcomes, Health Systems Design, Evidence-Based Practice, Polytrauma/Rehabilitation, Emergency/ Critical Care, and Population Health
