2. Child Development Associate (CDA)
Credential or Associates Degree in Early Childhood
3. Family Independence Agency (FIA)
Clearance
4. Fingerprint scan—Federal Bureau of Investigation (IDENTIX)
5. Criminal History Check---(ICHAT)
6. CPR/First Aid certification
7. Compliance with NCLB requirements
8. Ability to relate well to bilingual and non-bilingual staff
in the schools
9. Preference may be given for previous work experience
in early childhood education

RELATIONSHIPS: Michigan School Readiness Administrator
Building Administrator
PRIMARY
FUNCTION: Tuesday through Friday, 8:30a.m. – 3:45p.m., assist in the
implementation of Michigan School Readiness Preschool
Program. To collaborate with the classroom teacher to
provide a high-quality preschool experience for children
who may be at risk of becoming educationally
disadvantaged and who may have extraordinary need of
special assistance.
PROFESSIONAL
DRESS Partnership with the classroom teacher places you in a
professional position interacting with families, children,
building visitors and the general public. Therefore,
appropriate attire is required. Board of Education Policy

PERFORMANCE 1. Carry out daily activity plans as designed by the
RESPONSIBILITIES: preschool teacher in accordance with program curriculum and philosophy
2. Receive training to assist with assessment:
Child Observation Record, PreLAS, and
MLPP
3. Daily collaboration with classroom teacher to
discuss assessment driven instruction and differentiation of instruction to meet the educational
needs of young children
4. Busing aide to be in compliance with Licensing Rules
For Child Care Centers, Part 6. Transportation Provisions. If not an aide on the bus, assist with children getting to and from the classroom and safely on and off the bus
5. High level of interaction between adult and children
· Interaction and supervision of children during indoor and outdoor activities
· Read to children, listen to children read and participate in other forms of oral communication with children
· Help children use classroom equipment and materials
· Assist children with their clothing, snack, clean up and other routines
6. Develop effective and culturally responsive communication with children’s parents, participate in home visits, parent fairs, classroom parent meetings, open house, end of year celebration
7. Participate in in-service training, conference and conventions as assigned by program administrator
8. Assist with attendance and home communication in the event a child is absent
9. Report accidents or injuries or any other problems to the preschool teacher including the nature of the situation and action taken
10. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the program administrator
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: 10 months, DFSE schedule
EVALUATION: Annually
