Foster Care Rates Updated April 2010

Criteria for determining rate of payment:

A.  Characteristic of child foster parent is willing to care for;

B.  Services foster parent is willing to provide to that child (ex: monthly treatment team meeting/ transportation and involvement in therapeutic services to the child etc.) and,

C.  Amount of training the foster parent received. - Foster parents are now leveled 1 thru 5 based on the above three area, then child’s Level of Care also goes from 1 thru 5.

Level 1 - Children who shows minor episodes of transient behavior $17 a day (not yet implemented).

Level 2 - Children 0 to 12 who show mild service needs $25 a day (not yet implemented)

Level 3 - Children 0 17 who exhibits a combination of service needs requires specialized placement

$35 a day, children with developmental delays may be in this category. (Currently

implemented)

Level 4 - Children 6- 17 who exhibits a combination of at least three service needs – intensive

specialized placement $45 a day (Currently implemented)

Level 5 - Children 8-17 who exhibits a combination of four service needs treatment placement $55 a

day (sample of combinations - delinquent behavior, Conduct disorder, history of failed

placements, school problems or truancy – Currently implemented).

Unlicensed homes when receive clothing and incidental for the child that usually adds up to about $100 per month.

The old system is still being used for the less difficult placements until we receive funding for full implementation of our new leveling system.
