CROSS – COUNTRY RUNNING RACE INSTRUCTIONS

RIBBON GIVER

Thanks for coming and helping us to organize this race. Please read the instructions and follow them as closely as possible! If you have questions ask Pavel or Norm for help. We run one of the best meets in Vermont thanks to your effort.

1. Ribbon Giver’s responsibility is giving ribbons to assigned competitors.

2. Stand at the very end of the chute (after the number tab rippers).

3. Before the meet check all ribbons for all races and determine

q What ribbons belong to Middle School / JV HS / Varsity HS

q What ribbons belong girls / boys

q How many top finisher you will skip (different in every race)

4. Before every race, check the ribbons for the upcoming race and decide what place runner will get the first ribbon. You will skip the top ten or twenty runners (they will receive their medals at the awards ceremony after the conclusion of the race).

5. Stand so you will keep all competitors in front of you, don’t let them escape behind you.

6. Make sure you give only one ribbon to each runner (the ribbons occasionally stick together).

7. You may check the place of a competitor with the computer person or place number recorder.

Pressure is on. You are it. No back ups. We do not order back up ribbons, it will be close to impossible to correct any mistakes.
