Course Syllabus

Welcome to a new form of Model Schools Workshop. You will need to have access to the Internet and an email account. All lessons, assignments and the required evaluation are available. The completed assignments must be back into me via the send assignments link or by email by the end of the course. Then you will be sent a certificate of completion.

If you want to be paid for this workshop by the Model Schools program, you will need to discuss this with your district's site administrator before you begin. The appropriate approval must be given and it will be your responsibility to fill out the appropriate paperwork to be paid. Whether or not you are paid will be a district decision. Since we are still breaking new ground here, I cannot guarantee that you will be paid. We have informed the district that this is the equivalent of a 3-hour workshop for payment purposes. However, be prepared to spend more than three hours. It will require no travel time and you can work during the hours that are convenient for you and at your own pace, in your own home.

Because this is a new form of staff development, we will need to ask you to fill out an evaluation form for us at the end of this workshop. This questionnaire will be part of the requirements for completion. Please be candid with us, so that we can further develop online learning courses that will make using technology to meet the state standards easier for you. The evaluations are done through the link in the assignments and they are anonymous.

If you have questions while you are working on the assignments, please email me and I will get back to you as promptly as I can. Again, welcome, and I hope you have a rewarding learning experience with this form of Model Schools Workshop.

Lesson 1

Drag and Drop

Drag and Drop activities are those where the student only needs to drag and drop objects according to the directions. I usually put the directions on the page, even if the students can’t read them. It helps me remember what the activity is for.

There is usually no typing involved (except for typing their name). These activities usually take more time to create, but less time for the student to complete the lesson.
