Contract Management

Swimming

During February we have introduced a new distribution plan to target child swimming participation. Through our weekly analysis of swimming usage we highlighted that following on from free swimming our child usage had reduced. In order to address this we introduced a new session called Aquatic Youth Club. It runs on a Friday evening 6pm until 7.30pm. Usage of this session has steady grown and now see upwards of 50 children each week.

We have also introduced a program of swimming teacher monitoring. This will help us to ensure that the standard of our lesions is high as well as improve our teachers and pass on best practise.

Staffing

· We have recruited a Swimming Teacher at the pool, and are recruiting for Leisure Assistant at Perdiswell.

Outdoor sports

Within the month I have met with the head green keeper. We are targeting a closer working relationship with him and his team. The first item that we have actioned is a monthly green keeper’s report which is on display in the golf shop. I am in the process of setting up a meeting Ian Yates and Jason Gilchrist with the goal of crating a joint “Golf Strategy” and ensure that we have better understanding of the work that is planned on the golf course.

The major items completed off the condition survey at the pool focussed around converting the old crèche in to a meeting/conference room.

At Perdiswell items the items in the football changing block were completed.

An updated condition survey spreadsheet will be sent following the client contractor meeting.

The lowest hand dryer is not working. Is it possible to get the dryers checked on a regular basis? / Thank you for your comment. The dryer has recently been replaced with a new motion censored hand dryer. The dryers are checked daily by the Duty Manager and monthly by our Health and Safety coordinator. If the dryer is to break again we will be more prompt in fixing the problem.
Blue overshoes in the changing room are an excellent idea but quite often they are not available. / Thank you for brining this to our attention. The changing village is checked every 15 minutes by a member of staff, but following on from this we will now ensure they check the supply of blue overshoes each time and replenish them if required.
When can we have a bracket for the punch bag upstairs, it has been missing for ages / Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that the bracket has been missing for some time now, once we have obtained a price for one, it will be replaced.
I came for a swim with my children, as I thought that under 16s were free, but was told on arriving that this was not the case. / Thank you for letting us know about this. Unfortunately due to government cut-backs the free swimming stopped at the end of September 2010. Since that time we have advertised the fact it has finished around our centre, and it has been taken off our website.
The Fun Pool is now closed in the morning, so this makes it hard for me to use the pool. / Thank you for your comment. The closure of the pool is based on decreased usage figure for that time of day, but we have opened the pool at times when it is busier. If you would like to improve your swimming we have several adult classes taking place right now, so please speak to a member of staff to book onto the course

The staff were very friendly and helpful during the Toy and Train fair. / Thank you for this feedback, and we are glad you enjoyed the event. Our staff are committed to providing excellent service throughout the contract, and receive continual training to do this.
Toilets in men’s reception area are very smelly. They have been for a long time now it doesn’t look good? / Thank you for this comment. The toilets will be refurbished shortly, we are just awaiting quotes to undertake the work.
Roller disco is really good. / Thank you for the feedback. We are glad you enjoy it, make sure you tell all your friend to come along on Friday night to Perdiswell
